AQIS Inspection

Imported shipping containers and cargo entering Australia may be subject to biosecurity requirements before they can be released and delivered to their final destination.

The term AQIS inspection is still commonly used within the freight and logistics industry. AQIS—the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service—is a former name. Biosecurity functions are now administered by the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF).
